A Clean, Sterile Environment
Your health and safety are our highest priority at Seal Beach Dental Implants and Periodontics. That’s why our practice follows strict sterilization and disinfection protocols as recommended by the CDC, OSHA and the American Dental Association.
These protocols ensure the protection of both our patients and our staff and are effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19, influenza and other serious communicable diseases.
We also take additional measures above and beyond those recommended by the ADA and OSHA. To ensure the air you breathe is clean and virus-free, we have installed medical-grade air filtration throughout the office. Our HEPA-filtered surgical suite features a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter that removes over 99 percent of particulates in the air, including dust, pollen, mold and bacteria. This is the same type of filtration used in hospital operatories and ensures that only pure filtered air flows through the room for patient health and safety.
New Patient Exam
We love meeting new patients and will make you feel welcome upon your arrival at our office. If you don’t already have X-rays from a referring doctor, we will take low-radiation digital X-rays that are fast and comfortable. We will perform a thorough examination of your mouth, screen for oral cancer, discuss our findings with you and provide you with a written treatment plan. Dr. Aslam and our friendly staff will patiently answer all your questions, and our treatment coordinator will review everything with you and thoroughly explain all fees and insurance information.

Tooth Exposure for Orthodontics
Sometimes teeth need orthodontic treatment to get them into their proper place, but the teeth have failed to properly emerge from the gums enough for braces to be attached. Dr. Aslam gently uncovers unerupted teeth from the gums so that an orthodontist can bring the teeth into correct alignment.

Teeth Extractions
Dr. Aslam’s primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible, but if a tooth is too painful, fractured or loose, it’s usually better to remove it. Dr. Aslam gently extracts unsavable teeth while the patient is comfortably sedated and can prepare the extraction site for dental implant placement in the future. In some cases, he is able to use a special piezosurgical device that produces ultrasonic reverberations to make the extraction even easier and preserve even more of the natural surrounding bone.

Frenectomies
Sometimes the frenum (the small line of tissue that connects your lip to your gums, or the underside of your tongue to the bottom inside of your mouth) is too strong or too short and it restricts the movement of the mouth. This condition is often called tongue-tie or lip-tie. Dr. Aslam gently trims, removes or adjusts the frenum to create the proper mobility and help ease speaking and swallowing with a procedure called a frenectomy.
